2010’s “stomp-clap-hey” music isn’t looked back on fondly today. Reformed hipsters holding resentment for their trends falling out of fashion. I won’t revise my history; I genuinely dig some of those folk records. The only full-length from Twin Forks—the side project of Chris Carrabba (Dashboard Confessional), Suzie Zeldin (The Narrative), & Ben Homola (Bad Books)—is one of them. Take Dashboard Confessional, add female vocals, sprinkle in some mandolin, & you get this emo/americana cocktail. I assume Twin Forks would have been a bigger success if they had been earlier to the party. The oversaturation of Mumford & Sons sound-alikes was rampant by 2014.
